Note for Parents

AWANA is not…

…a social club

…a place to babysit your kids

At AWANA, we hope to present God and His teachings in the Bible to your children in a fun and interesting way that is appropriate for their age.

But did you know AWANA really starts at home? AWANA co-workers only spend less than 2 hours a week with your children. The importance of God and the Bible will be impressed upon them mostly by your time with them.

However, AWANA can serve as a great supplement to the spiritual development of your children (or even introduction to Christ for those from non-Christian homes).  To maximize the benefit of AWANA, consider the following:

-Taking interest in your child’s handbook and explaining the importance of memorizing Scripture

-Showing the importance of their spiritual development

-Showing the importance of AWANA by making sure

On a practical basis, you can help by:

-Arriving early or on time

-Making sure your child brings their uniform, handbook, and Bible

-Making sure your child is wearing tennis shoes for Games

-Working with your child during the week on their memory verses

-Talking to your child about what they learned that evening at AWANA

-Meet your child’s teacher

The spiritual development of your children is a big task, but hopefully with your help we can make it an exciting one!
